David Cadenhead

I admired David from some distance when we were both pupils of Alloa Academy. He was highly intelligent with a reputation for being one of the most able pupils in the school. Was it really 65 years ago that I met David and May in his parents house in Coalsnaughton. I was invited there by his younger sister and at that tender age I could see that David and May were going to have successful careers, together, within a loving relationship. It is with sorrow that I have learned of both their passings, but at the same time I am so proud of both of them and their achievements in the USA.
David's parents - his dad was a miner - would also be proud of the achievements of all their family.
Yes, I was sad when I heard the news, but this sadness melted away when I read the comments of his students and colleagues. A true teacher; an able researcher; a respected member of his community.
