Death Notice

Fergus Crawford

Published on 15/02/2017

CRAWFORD.- Fergus. Mr Fergus Crawford, formerly of Castle Street, Clackmannan died suddenly at his home in, England on Tuesday, February 7, aged 52. Born in Bridge of Allan and a former pupil of Alloa Academy, Fergus moved to Lancashire in 1996. He worked as an IT engineer at Time computers, and Rossendale Borough Council, before suffering a stroke in 2008. In the last year he had been a volunteer at Rawtenstall Library, working in an IT help group and assisting with blue badge applications. Fergus was often seen walking his 2 collie dogs and put his DIY skills to good use in converting a post office van into a family motorhome. He was a very enthusiastic member of Stirling and Kirkaldy Rotaract Clubs and it was through Rotaract that he met his wife, Janice, with whom he was a founder member of Pendle View Rotary Club in Lancashire. He leaves Janice and their only daughter, Caitlin, who was his pride and joy. Fergus will be missed by all who knew him, for his dry sense of humour and his contribution towards online diabetes and stroke forums and support and research associations across the country. There will be a service at the Co-op Funeralcare Parlour, Stirling at 11:30am on Friday, February 24, before burial at Logie Cemetery. Family flowers only please but Fergus was fascinated by the skill of some dogs in detecting the warning signs for diabetes sufferers, so donations if desired, for Medical Alert Assistance Dogs.
