PORTER Colin A proud veteran of the Gordon Highlanders, passed away peacefully on 10th November, at the William Simpsons Home in Plean, following a long battle with Huntington's Disease. Much loved son of Maureen Porter Smith. He grew up in Banff. At the age of 16, Colin enlisted in the Juniors of the Gordons and went on to serve in the regulars attaining the rank of Lance-Corporal. Colin was a talented musician, playing in the Gordon Highlanders Military Band and serving as a medical orderly in times of conflict, most conspicuously in the 1st Gulf War (1991). His loved ones will remember his kind and thoughtful nature. A service honouring the life of Colin will be held at St. Serf's Church on Friday 1st December at 11 am and thereafter to Tullibody Cemetery, to which all friends are respectfully invited. Donations, if so desired, will be gratefully received in aid of the Gordon Highlanders Museum in AberdeenYour tribute has been received.
