A MAN has admitted hurling homophobic insults towards a 15-year-old boy.
Last Wednesday, fiscal depute Adrian Fraser told Alloa Sheriff Court that the teenage victim had met up with friends in the town's Mill Street on November 9, 2016.
Mark Snaddon, who was described as being a "bit drunk", followed the youngster and branded him a "wee poof" and a "bum boy".
The 26-year-old accused, of Alloa's Kingswell Park, continued to shout, swear and make abusive, homophobic and threatening comments until the boy's father arrived and intervened.
Pleading guilty, defence agent Mr Robertson claimed that his client had no recollection of the incident but accepted the Crown's narrative.
Mr Robertson explained that the accused had sought solace in alcohol after his last day of work in a job.
Sheriff David Mackie sentenced Snaddon to a Community Payback Order with 60 hours of unpaid work to be completed within three months.
