A TEENAGER who tried to sneak a mobile phone into Glenochil Prison has dodged punishment because of her profession.
On Thursday, Emily Agnew pleaded guilty to hiding the prohibited article in her underwear while at the county jail on November 10 last year.
Alloa Sheriff Court was told that the 19-year-old was "extremely anxious" for the matter to be dealt with.
Agnew, of Lady Wilson Street in Airdrie, was said to have been of good behaviour since the incident.
Her defence agent claimed that a conviction would have a "disproportionate effect" on her career in child care.
Sheriff David Mackie handed the teen a second chance by granting an absolute discharge - meaning a finding of guilt is made, but no conviction is registered on her record.
