A WEE COUNTY man has appeared in court over the rape of a 14-year-old girl in Stirling on Friday night.
The 34-year-old male, said to be from Clackmannan, was charged with rape and administering a substance for sexual purposes, both under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009.
It comes after police were called to a property in Stirling at around 9.20pm on Friday, September 18, following reports of a serious sexual assault involving a teenager.
A male was subsequently arrested and charged with the two offences before appearing at Stirling Sheriff Court today.
He made no plea and was remanded in custody. The accused will appear again within the next eight days.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: "We received a report of a serious sexual assault against a 14-year-old girl at an address in Stirling, at around 9.20pm on Friday, 18 September.
"A 34-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with this incident. He was due to appear at Stirling Sheriff Court today."
