STIRLING Council are holding informal information events next week for people who may be interested in fostering.
The virtual sessions will be an opportunity to find out what’s involved in becoming a foster carer, including details on the process, training, support, fees and allowances.
Staff from the Council’s fostering team and foster carers will be on hand to answer any questions and speak about their experiences.
The evening event will be held on Tuesday, March 30, between 6pm and 7pm, and the lunchtime session will be held on Wednesday, March 31, from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.
Both events will be held on Microsoft Teams due to the ongoing pandemic and restrictions, and those interested can drop in for 10 minutes or the full hour.
Marie Valente, Stirling Council’s chief social work officer, said: “These virtual sessions allow people to find out about the various fostering opportunities that are available in a relaxed and informal way.
“Fostering can be extremely rewarding as you can make a real difference to a child’s life and change their future for the better.
“There is also ongoing support and training in place for all our carers so you are never alone and will feel part of a wider family.
“If you think you may be able to provide a safe and nurturing home for a young person, please come along to one of the events next week to find out more and to chat directly with our carers.”
