VOLUNTEERS from Stirling City Radio are taking on a range of challenges as part of a virtual Kiltwalk to raise funds.
The team – including presenters Lauren McQuade, Nikki Johnston and Ryan Baker – are taking on swimming and walking challenges in a bid to net funds for the community-based internet radio station.
They will be joined by Stirling Community Media trustees Lorraine Kean and Grant Thoms as they raise money through the virtual Kiltwalk – which will see donations topped up and raised by 50 per cent by Sir Tom Hunter and the Hunter Foundation.
Trustee Lorraine, who has already completed two challenging sunrise walks up Dumyat, said: "Our great team of volunteers will be getting active this month to raise funds for our fantastic community radio station.
"Stirling City Radio is run by the community, for the community.
"We have done some great outreach work in schools and care homes and would love to be able to continue that work in the community once Covid restrictions allow.
"Donations received will help us continue our work and go towards these activities which have brought entertainment, education, skills and joy to people across the area.
"We are an inclusive station providing a great platform for local people to get involved in broadcast and develop a range of skills and experience."
As part of the challenge, presenter Lauren is set to swim three lochs in a day, colleague Ryan will also tackle Dumyat walking straight from Bannockburn and Nikki will be walking 50miles a week for five weeks.
