A ROAD safety project involving a number of improvements on the A84 in Doune will get underway next week.
The project will involve teams installing new signage on approach to Doune as well as carrying out road surfacing improvements and line marking upgrades. The footway on the north approach to Doune will also benefit from surfacing improvements.
Beginning on Monday, May 31, the project will take approximately three weeks to complete, subject to weather conditions.
Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s north west representative, said: “The improvements to the pedestrian facilities and signage on the A84 in Doune are part of a continuing commitment by BEAR Scotland and Transport Scotland to improve road safety.
“The proposed works are likely to take three weeks to complete and will require the use of traffic management to protect the workforce and road users alike.
“We will do all we can to complete the works quickly and will seek to remove the traffic management outwith working hours to minimise disruption however there may be occasions where this is not possible.”
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, temporary traffic lights will be in place for the duration of the works.
Access through the worksite will also be maintained for pedestrians, residents and the local bus service.
