A PROJECT aims to bring some of Scotland’s top comedians to the Forth Valley is to go ahead.
The comedy clubs, organised by Substate Events , will be launching on July 22 and features a star-studded lineup to get the project started.
The first event will be attending by well-known comedians such as Mark Black, Zubair Asghar, Kate Hammer and Liam Farrelly.
Five time Scottish Comedian of the Year Ross Leslie will host the event, due to be held at the Golden Lion Hotel in Stirling.
Brian Aitken, of Substate Events, explained the idea came from a desire to bring top entertainment to Forth Valley.
He said: “We have decided to run events like this as there isn’t much to do in Forth Valley.
“The best bands, artists and comedians were not coming here, partly because no major promoters really operate outside of the big cities, and there’s few venues to host them.
“We decided to make do with what we have and run events here and search for good hospitable venues and willing artists to showcase their talents.
“We plan on running events in all areas of Forth Valley – Clackmannanshire, Stirling and Falkirk.”
Brian, originally from Alloa, formed Substate Events with some friends in an effort to bring music and comedy shows to areas such as Forth Valley which may be overlooked by promoters.
