AFTER last week’s postponements, live rugby returned to the region on Saturday.
Clubs had been given the option to postpone games, but the vast majority of teams decided to carry on.
In the Premiership Hawick were due to face bottom of the table Aberdeen Grammar at Mansfield Park however this was postponed. Elsewhere Selkirk lost 25-18 away to Marr and Jed-Forest lost 38-31 at Musselburgh.
In National League One Biggar won the Borders derby against Melrose at the Greenyards by 25-19, Gala beat Boroughmuir 40-14 in Edinburgh and Kelso beat Ayr at Poynder Park 23-3.
In National League Two Peebles game at Newton Stewart was postponed and in National League Three Berwick’s scheduled game against Lasswade was also called off.
In East League One Duns away fixture at Portobello was postponed.
In East League Two Hawick Linden lost 18-0 at home to Langholm and in East League Three Earlston’s game against Lismore and Gala YM’s match at Edinburgh University were both postponed.
In the Reserve East League One Jed-Forest A v Heriot’s Blues A was called off, Biggar A beat Selkirk A 65-10 and Hawick Force beat Stewart’s Melville 41-27 in the capital.
In the Reserve East League Two Gala A lost 54-5 to Edinburgh Accies, Peebles Reds game against Lasswade A was called off, Melrose Storm beat Leith A 67-3 away from home and Kelso Sharks beat Watsonians A 20-14.
In the National Youths U18 Cup quarter-finals Hawick Youth beat Biggar 26-13 whilst Kelso Harlequins lost 16-19 at home to Stirling Wolves.
In the National Youths U18 Shield quarter-finals Melrose Wasps beat Deeside/Garioch 40-15 away from home whilst Gala Wanderers beat Dunfermline 80-0 in Fife.
